Holiday in Langkawi <3

What else can I say. The accommodation was nice, the weather was nice, the scenery was nice, and the food was super nice. And we had 4 days to spare.

We stayed by the beach, and there weren't any Malaysians around and I often had to remind myself that we're in Malaysia XD.

We ate at different places for every meal, everyday. I couldn't get enough of the seafood. The Tom yam was pure Thai hotness and the prawns are to die for. I don't remember the last time I've eaten this much since I got my braces on, sadly.

Don't even get me started on the beach. Sunset at the beach--breathtaking.

We didn't get to go island hopping because we chose to spend one day at Pulau Payar for snorkeling. The sea current was quite strong and the waves were big. I saw a fish about 4 feet long staying still under the buoy and I kinda freaked out. It looked dark and dangerous. I mean seriously, it looked like it was about to attack. Other than that, the whole thing was very calming and fun. Being in water is always good :)

Shopping is great because of the duty-free. Plenty of goods to choose from, and at low prices. Favorites? Chocolate, glassware, cutleries, clothes.

Basically, that was the trip. You'd just have to be there to enjoy everything. More pictures down below. Check out sunset at Pantai Cenang.

Something Car related

Just when I thought things couldn't get more interesting, my car's tire fell off in the middle of the road. Ironically, I was driving around 20 km/hr in my neighborhood. Two days before, I was driving to and from Perak but there weren't any tell-tales of tires coming off.

The mechanics were baffled. Is there any mechanical engineers out there who can explain this to me?

P/s: I'm grateful I'm still alive. Imagine this happening on the highway. Not pretty.

Blink

The other day when I was at my cousin's home, I asked if I could borrow some books. That's when I saw this book my cousin has. It's called Blink, and it's about our instinct or subconscious mind. According to my cousin, the book was featured in Oprah and the author was called on the show to talk about the book and everything.

So far I found the book very interesting, it caught my attention, it made me think that maybe I should use my instincts sometimes, instead of always being technical when making decisions.
The guy who wrote this book is a science journalist and he wrote this other book called 'The Tipping Point'.

Pavillion

Super freakintastic. I love Pavillion. That's my shopping haven, that's my freakin' therapy place!! The mall is gigantic, I didn't know where to look, the whole place was a sight for sore eyes. I mean, seriously, have you seen the shops there? Everything was there. I'm not sure if Miss Selfridge was there, but they had practically every single thing. There wasn't even masses of people doing nothing! (being sarcastic)

As much as I love to shop till I drop, I actually dropped. At the escalator. That was kinda funny. My soul kinda got bruised but I'm ok. Because I was at Pavillion. Yea.

People. I've heard rumors saying Pavillion is boring. I'm sorry I have to oppose.
Pictures below.

p/s: I looove the grand stairs in the middle!

Cuzzies

One thing I love about family is how they manage to cheer you out of the gloom. Yesterday I hung out at my aunt's house. These days, I seem to be going there almost everyday for reasons that baffle me. Somehow, I'd end up at their doorstep, eating their food, using their internet. But they're always like, 'come on in'!! as if I haven't been there for years.. which is fun. And doesn't hurt that when I go, it's a full house.

I'm posting pics of our craziness. Pardon the old picture vibe, it my latest obsession.

Sg Batu

Ever since I got this new phone I can't stop taking pictures! It's crazy..
The ones I post below is when I travelled back to Sg. Batu. I had a fun time returning there after 3 years.

About Me and Then Some

Hey!

I'm Adilah Adib, born on October 5th 1987, a girl and straight.

Those are the most important things you need to know before I go on.

I'm studying in University Technology of Petronas and I've been here for 3 years. I don't necessarily like this place, as you may well discover in my upcoming posts because reason no 1: I never wanted to go to UTP in the first place. What more to work as an engineer. That idea still freaks me out. Crikey.

My family is in Pakistan, and I meet them about twice a year; which is in June and in November. I'll answer a question many people instinctively ask me upon hearing about my family in Pakistan and that is, isn't it dangerous for them to live there? Aren't you worried? Well, the odds of you getting bombed in Pakistan is less than being robbed and killed in Malaysia. So, no, I'm not that worried to tell you the truth. Besides, they have Petronas informing them about the tiniest things like uncle X has moved out of his house. I used to be delighted to have my family so far away for obvious reasons, but starting last year, I think I've begin to detest having my family away in another continent and for more complicated reasons.

I like the finer things in life and I tend to be picky, but once I've found the perfect solution to my problem, I'll stick to it like super glue. Example? My very durable blanket that I've had since I was 6. Bought from a Pakistani merchant. Get what I mean? I'll talk about some of my favorite things from time to time, and I'll try to give the best recommendations of stuff.

So this is me, and then some other important things to me.
Hope you enjoy the read and have a very good day.
