Medan On New Year’s

muntah

On New Year’s, I flew to Medan, Indonesia for work. Eventhough it was for work, it felt more like a spa holiday.

lop

Medan apparently is not quite done with Christmas yet.

hello

The best part was, me and my colleagues get to stay in JW Marriott and have queen sized beds each!

ok

When I go to a hotel, first thing that I check will be the beds. Once satisfied, I go to the bathroom. And the bathroom had a big clear glass facing the beds, intended obviously for. Third thing to do was to find the shutters so we could have bathroom privacy!

teehee

I didn’t wanna get out of the room…

meh

exer

Does this sight makes you wanna exercise till you drop?

opopw

While we were there, we made our 2nd home in the jacuzzi and steam room. Sorry no pictures of that.

Ate at Garuda restaurant.

So not over christmas.

That’s it for my work/short spa trip to Medan! Btw we only stayed overnight, so we only went to one shopping mall. Couldn’t say much about the city, but one day, I would like to visit Lake Toba. Who has been there?

What I’m Saying Is…

weekend love!

When I go shopping, I will try to arrive at the moment that they open the doors and go home in the afternoon. Reason is, one, you get to beat the crowd. Two, you don’t have to pray in the mall.

I’ve long had this dislike about praying in the mall. Not only is the surau usually ill-kept but you can never pray in peace. I really don’t understand why some people make suraus their hang out place aka mamak stall no. 2.

Obviously, I don’t know what’s going on in the guy’s area and I’m not finger pointing but 100% of everytime I get into suraus, you’ll get an aura that you have just stepped into a happening eating place.

Do you really have to share beauty tips in the surau? Do you really have to tell everyone in the surau that your friend’s stepsister’s fiance is a bi***? Or compare the clothes you bought? Or do you have to take up so much space in the little box of a surau when you can’t even pray?

For goodness sake, it’s a praying room so please respect everybody who wants some peace to p-r-a-y.

I might have done it in the past when I was young and stupid but I realized that what I was doing was so annoying!

Please people, be considerate and others will be considerate to you! This is Hitz.fm community message and together with the Hitz crew, we care about you!

p/s: This weekend is more of a tough love and I know Hitz.fm would never cover this topic. Har har.

Super Big Deal

I’ve been spending money like crazy the past few weeks! Must be the work pressure and the only way to feel adrenaline. Must be! Now I’m dead broke! Weeeeeeeee!

I just bought a book. Among the thousands other reading materials I bought (I’m a hardcore bookworm, take it or leave it), this book is the one book that I know nothing about before buying. I didn’t read the summary and I didn’t take a peek inside (book’s still cling-wrapped). I haven’t even heard of the book before.

Mystery, mystery

It’s all my mom’s fault. She said, “you have 10 minutes”. Well, she had to say that because I could stay in the bookstore for 8 hours. I ran to the fiction side and decided between a David Baldacci book and a book with a scary lady on the front. Then in a split second, I saw this book and liked the way it sounds fairytale-y so I bought it.

I might be off-the-rail wrong and the book could be about Nazis and war but who cares? I think this is how love at first sight happens… You gung ho fall in love, find out the person is 360 degrees different that what you initially thought, then you break up.

Btw I don’t believe in love at first sight. They’re just bollocks.

Thoughts On Marriage & Stuff

*WARNING* Lots of random blab and exposé ahead!

I just got back from a really really really really good…a w forget it more than friends’s sister’s wedding reception. It’s the wedding season again. A few friends got hitched and one got engaged all within last month. My veeeery close cousin got married when she was 21 and she’s now mom of two cute little guys and one of my best friends got married around the time I was busy doing project reports and she has a daughter who’s two this year.

You know, everytime I hear someone getting married, I will be like, good for them, I wish them all the best. I don’t like the idea of getting married too early myself and I don’t really like the fuss and the money spent on making that “wedding of the year”. I actually like the idea of kawin lari to escape the money expense and all that jazz but it’s easier said then done. It would be good to kawin lari, then update Facebook status over the weekend: married.

Getting married is like getting a job placement. And you’re one of those people waiting to get a job. You know the buzz you get when you hear someone has “gotten a job”. OH THE HORROR. WHen am I ganna get a job?????? WHen is the company ganna call me???!!!!!! WHen when when!!!!! JUmp out of the building!!! Well not quite.. but close.

I’ve learned through experience… don’t rush anything. Don’t rush getting a job, don’t rush eating, don’t rush on the road, don’t rush to the toilet. Just don’t rush!!!!! But at the same time, you’re ganna be like, oh god. When’s it my time. But really you’re just comparing yourself to other people, and not really considering your position. By “your” I mean, “my” ok? Just to get that clear.

So everyone’s so gung ho bout getting married, but what happens after? Can I imagine living with the same person until I die? Like, I get bored of seeing the same person in my face everyday so how do I handle living with that person for the rest of my life? What about money…. do I have enough to stay married and to buy a Volkswagen Beetle? Research says wait until after 25 to make a rational decision about getting married to avoid divorce or *cringe* kahwin dua so is that how long I should wait?

The reason why I suddenly felt like talking about this topic is because how do I start. I knew this one guy since I was 16. To put it lightly—we’ve long established ourselves as more than friends—so long that this will be the 7th year. HM. 7th year itch. Like that Marilyn Monroe movie. OK so 7 years is not short, in fact it’s so long that the 56k modem has gone through many makeovers that it’s now UNIFI. Bush has become Obama. My friend broke up, found new guy, got married, pop out a kid and moved to Pakistan. That long. OK?

And today, for the first time in that close to 7 years, I met all the members of his family. FIRST TIME. Boom. Learned their faces half a decade ago, and knew their names and meeting everyone in the flesh. SEGAN. TAKUT. OMG. OVEREACTING MUCH. Salam2, eat, take pictures, eat, salam2, thanked everybody, and there you have it, I’ve just revealed another milestone in my life. Welcome 2011!

Thanks for reading. Signing out!

I Went To A Muay Thai Competition Because There’s Not Enough Excitement In My Life

DSC_0314

Last Saturday, I was dragged to watch a Muay Thai competition. I know what you’re saying. “Of all things?” The place was PACKED. And so noisy! But it was fun!

We took the platinum seat because I was afraid of being trampled on. It costs an overwhelming amount of RM25. I didn’t plan. I heard, I agreed, I went. At night, and I went home at 12. Felt like I just got back from a rock concert or something. Anak dara apa ntah.

But phew. New experience. And I never realized before, but Kelantanese guys are hot. LOLs. But perhaps not for me.

OK shutting up. I’m out!

Chill To These =)

One, Taylor Swift is singing something other than fairytales which is ‘fresh’ to me. Second, besides her voice, the tunic she’s wearing is super nice.

I don’t like to play videos on blogs, I don’t expect anyone to, but I promise all the songs here are so soothing, you’d wanna add them to your ‘chill out’ playlist.

Enjoy, and happy weekend peeps =)

Taylor Swift’s Back to December Live

John Mayer’s Half of My Heart (feat. Ms Taylor Swift)

Michael Buble’s Georgia

And last but not least, the song I can’t get out of my head as of now:

Bruno Mars’s Grenade Live

Ladida that’s it for you. Something short and sweet. If I were to go back to Beijing, I would do it to learn their language because they all sounded so awesome. They were talking like the Ip Man!

Also, eventhough it didn’t look like it, I was feeling pretty horrible because it was barking freezing. I felt icicles forming in my nose!

Now have melted! Signing out!
